Message from the Head 19th May 2017

Message from the Head:

While SQA exams have continued apace, this has been another varied week at St Margaret’s which has included the Dance Cup for our juniors, Geography fieldwork for I and III Senior and the third of our special transition sessions for next year's 1 Junior class.

On Thursday I made a short visit to Queen Margaret’s School in Escrick near York for a meeting of Girls’ Schools Association heads from Scotland, the north-east and the north-west of England. The focus of the meeting was standardised assessment which while dry on paper was enriched by the experiences of so many different schools. I don’t particularly like being out of school but such a gathering never fails to give me new inspiration and always reinforces the unique nature of girls’ schools which combine academic rigour and innovation with a supportive and nurturing environment.

The highlight of the week is undoubtedly The Junior Show Club production of “Annie” at The Lemon Tree. As the weekly news goes to print, I am eagerly awaiting tonight’s performance and I am sure you will share my enjoyment of these shots of last night’s show.
