4 Junior Pharmacy Workshop

Five fourth year pharmacy students from RGU delivered a workshop to 4 Junior. They learnt about medicines and the importance of only taking medicine prescribed for themselves, where to keep medicine and to take the dose prescribed. The workshop was interactive and the girls were given the chance to practise measuring out the correct dosage. Using water with blue food colouring added they used a syringe, 5ml spoon and a measuring cup to show how to measure 5ml. With smarties they were shown how tablets are counted out using a special triangular counter. Each girl wrote a prescription label and put their smarties into a clear plastic bag with their prescription label on the front. I wonder how many of them remembered to take one three times a day? The girls thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and learnt valuable lessons about medicines.
