We have created a list of the top things to do in Aberdeen this Christmas.


Trinity Centre Santa Parade

The Annual Trinity Centre Santa Parade is on Sunday, 25th November, at 12pm. Known as the “Reindeer Parade”, Santa and his sleigh walk up Union street towards the Trinity Centre with reindeer, local charities, community groups and mascots where they then spend the afternoon meeting children. 

 

Aberdeen Christmas Village and open air ice-rink

The Aberdeen Christmas Village, open air ice rink, festival rides and Christmas market is open from Thursday 22nd November to early January 2019 on Broad Street.

 

Charlie House Santa Fun Run

Raise money for a local charity and be part of the Christmas Lights Switch-on parade on Sunday, 25th November by running down Union Street dressed as Santa! Registration is essential at charliehouse.org.uk for this event.

 

Union Street Christmas Light switch on

Aberdeen’s Christmas lights will be switched on in a ‘Fire and Ice’ themed parade led by the Lord Provost of Aberdeen on Sunday, 25th November from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The light switch-on includes a parade with Santa’s, reindeer on segways, carnival characters, panto characters and special guests the Sandwick Up Helly Aa Vikings from Shetland.

 

Carol Concert

Enjoy festive favourites at the annual Evening Express Carol Concert, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary year as part of the re-opening of the newly refurbished Music Hall on Sunday, 9th December at 7pm. Tickets are available from Aberdeen Performing Arts.

 

Join in singing your favourite carols to the accompaniment of the Bon Accord Silver Band and singers on Saturday, 15th December in the Winter Gardens at Duthie Park. Food bank donations are also being accepted in aid of CFINE - a social enterprise charity committed to improving health and wellbeing for all.

 

Friends of Hazlehead Winter Wonderland

Join Santa and his reindeer, live music and craft stalls at the Hazlehead Park Winter Wonderland on Sunday, 16th December from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by Rock Choir, Hazlehead School Choir, Cairngorm Reindeers and Bon Accord Silver Band.

 

Santa’s Grotto (s)

Experience the magic of Santa’s Grotto in Marischal College Quad is from Thursday 22nd November to Sunday, 23rd December, and Bon Accord Centre from Saturday, 17th November to Monday, 24th December.  The CLAN Santa’s Grotto at Den and Glen at Maryculter, runs from Friday 16th November until Sunday 23rd December.
