Fantastic news once again as Charley Hamilton, Captain of the St Margaret’s Horse Riding Team, has been selected to represent Great Britain with her horse Amadora JX, as an individual for the FEI Juniors Nations Cup in Lamprechtshausen (AUT) from May 16-19.
She said “I am delighted, and feel privileged to have been selected. I can’t wait to compete in Austria.”
Charley, who is in fifth year, was just last month selected for a place on the prestigious horsescotland Development Squad, and will spend the next two years working towards a place in the Performance Squad.
Charley’s first highlight was winning the Mini Major at the London Olympia show in 2014, when she was just 12. In 2018, she started competing in horse competitions where she was placed at her first ever International show. She has competed for Scotland numerous times in national competitions in Scotland, Wales, England and Ireland.
More recently, she qualified at the first Royal Highland Show qualifier in one of several classes she hopes to compete at this year. In 2017 and 2018, she was 2nd nationally in the gold league and currently sits in the top 10 in the Scottish Silver league.
Charley was, and is, the British Showjumping Just For Schools individual champion, winning in both 2017 and 2018 at the national championships, where she competed for St Margaret’s.
Best of luck to Charley when she competes later this week.
