Former pupil awarded prestigious Scholastic Award for academic performance at Stanford University

Congratulations to former pupil, Ayesha Pasha, who has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious J. E. Wallace Sterling Scholastic Award for distinguished academic performance at Stanford University. The Sterling Award is one of the university’s most selective academic awards. It is based on overall academic performance as determined by Grade Point Average and is presented to the top 25 students in the graduating senior class in the School of Humanities and Sciences.

Recipients of the award are invited to name a secondary school teacher who has been the most influential in guiding them through the formative stages of their academic career. Ayesha identified Mr Gavin Cunningham, our Head of History, Modern Studies and Economics, as that person. In non-Covid times Mr Cunningham would have been invited to a celebratory event at Stanford!

Ayesha was a pupil at St Margaret’s from her early junior years until completion of her VI Senior year. We congratulate her most warmly on her success.
