AberNecessities Christmas Appeal

This week, St Margaret’s School for Girls is encouraging its community to ‘Be the Change’ ahead of the annual St Margaret’s Day Celebration this Friday.

As part of our St Margaret’s Day celebrations on the 18th of November, we will be accepting donations for the AberNecessities festive appeal. All this week, we are asking you to bring in your donations to the school office, for collection by the charity.

Every day children and young people in our area go without, with the Christmas period being particularly difficult. 21.8% of children living across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are living in poverty which means the magical feeling and hopeful anticipation of Christmas morning doesn't exist.

The items that the charity is most in need of for children are: gifts for teens, especially warm winter clothing and accessories; cosy pyjamas and socks; hot chocolates/mugs; reading books; selection boxes; crafting toys/kits; felt-tip pens and pencils; Christmas toiletries/gift sets; milk formula; nappies; baby food; new children's underwear; winter, cosy clothes, throws, fleece dressing gowns, 'snoodies', blankets and single bedding.
