The weather stayed clear and dry for us on Saturday, as St Margaret’s School for Girls welcomed current and prospective families into the school for our open morning.
School staff and prefects greeted guests and escorted them to the hall where there were welcoming performances from St Margaret’s musicians.
The junior choir opened proceedings with a performance of ‘Amani Utupe (Grant Us Peace, Give us Courage)’, the senior choir then following with their rendition of ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’. School head, Anna Tomlinson, and our head girl gave welcoming addresses in which they stated how pleased they were to see so many new faces. They highlighted specialist teaching, small class sizes, and the freedom granted to girls to explore their interests as some of the many excellent qualities the school has to offer.
Families were then given an informative and in-depth tour of St Margaret’s from prefects and teachers, who shared their personal experiences of being at the school. It was a fantastic opportunity to display some of the incredible work by our pupils who have worked so hard throughout this year.
Teas and coffees were offered as a light refreshment after the tours of the school concluded, with many of the children delighting in the goodie bags and snacks on offer.
The hustle and bustle of the school on a morning such as this was a fantastic introduction to the new families who we look forward to welcoming into the St Margaret’s community.
