We make it our priority to ensure your family’s admissions experience is welcoming and personal. Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make and so we will assist you in making the process of entry to St Margaret’s as easy as possible. The best way to get an insight on life at St Margaret’s and our unique ethos is to visit us in person and so if you wish to arrange a tour or simply to have a chat please contact our Admissions Officer Anne Bonandrini, on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01224 584466.
In the meantime, please enjoy this short video to give you a flavour of life at St Margaret's:
We accept applications for all age groups throughout the year.
Entry to St Margaret’s for all ages is by assessment or is based upon formal examination results and interview with the Head.
All children are required to be registered before attending a taster day at St Margaret’s School or before being assessed for a place. Please complete and return the Registration Form with the (non-returnable) registration fee of £50 and requested supporting documents. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website or requested by emailing email@example.com .
We advise you to register as soon as you have decided upon St Margaret’s as a choice of school. Demand for spaces is high, and we operate a strict waiting list policy, according to date of registration. Please note that all girls for entry to our senior school must have a good command of written and spoken English. Please see our Admissions Policy for specific admissions information for each year group.
Entry at all levels is conditional on assessment, either formal or informal. Prospective parents and pupils are invited to visit the school for a tour, and girls from 2 Junior upwards are welcome to come in for a trial day with their current year group. Girls are admitted at all stages of their education, from nursery to 6th year. We also welcome boys aged 3-5 years in our nursery. Once a place has been offered and accepted, we require a copy of the enrolment form which is your contract of agreement with the school, along with a £200 deposit. The enrolment deposit is returnable at the end of a pupil’s schooling or can be donated to the school.
Choosing a new school can be a daunting prospect, both for prospective pupils and their parents. When that school is in a different country, there will undoubtedly be many questions to be answered before a decision can be made as to which school is best for your child.
If you are a non-UK resident and would like your child to attend St Margaret’s School, the application process is as follows:
To express an initial interest in St Margaret’s School, you should contact the Admissions Office on firstname.lastname@example.org or on (01224) 584466.
A registration fee of £50 is required from all applicants. A passport photo and most recent school report should be provided at the same time as submitting your Registration Form;
Applicants who mark that they are from a non-UK country on the registration form will be asked to bring in a copy of their visa or permit to stay/study in the UK as well as a copy of the child’s passport.
Younger children (nursery age and younger junior years) can often have permission to study in the UK through parents’ visas. A copy of this visa would also be required. If a child does not have a visa, we can apply for one on their behalf as we have granted Tier 4 status by the UK Border Agency.
Assessments are dealt with on an individual basis depending on where you are currently living. You may be visiting Aberdeen in the near future, or we can arrange a video call or send an assessment to your child’s current school. We are flexible in how we assess candidates depending on circumstances and happy to discuss.
Once a place has been offered and accepted, we require a copy of the enrolment form which is your contract of agreement with the school, along with a £200 deposit. The enrolment deposit is returnable at the end of a pupil’s schooling or can be donated to the school.
