Green Dreams and Bright Futures: St. Margaret’s STEM Triumph

After months of creativity, innovation, and teamwork, two talented teams from 7 Junior proudly took their visions for sustainable schools of the future to Aberdeen University to compete in the thrilling Regional Finals of the Stemovators Challenge!

The Eco Frogs and The Eco Champs from St. Margaret's had already triumphed over fierce competition to earn their place in the finals and on Tuesday morning, they wowed the judges with two outstanding and imaginative presentations.

This exciting finale, hosted by Stemovators Scotland, marked the culmination of an epic learning journey that saw the girls dive deep into topics like sustainable materials, coding, renewable energy, forest and building management, future-focused architecture, and inspiring careers in STEM.

At the University, each team showcased their model of a sustainable school of tomorrow, and also got a behind-the-scenes tour of the cutting-edge Science Teaching Hub. To top it all off, they took part in a dynamic lineup of hands-on STEM challenges and activities led by local Aberdeen companies working at the forefront of science and technology.

The girls had an unforgettable day, with excitement reaching new heights when The Eco Frogs were announced as Runners-Up, winning £50 for STEM resources to support even more innovation back at the Junior School!

A brilliant result and a huge congratulations to all the teams involved! The future of STEM is definitely in safe hands!
