Performance at Alzheimer’s Centre - Monday 2nd June

On Monday 2nd June, Hannah B, Milly M, and Hannah M gave a wonderful performance for Alzheimer Scotland, as part of Dementia Awareness Week. The event, originally scheduled to take place at the Alzheimer Scotland Centre on King Street, was relocated to the Café Bar at the Arts Centre, due to recent torrential rain that impacted the original venue. The girls delivered a fabulous and moving performance that was warmly received by all the audience. The varied programme featured a lovely mix of community singing—led by the girls—alongside vocal and instrumental performances of well-known songs from film and television, as well as traditional Scottish songs.

From the uplifting opening number, ‘Do-Re-Mi’, to the poignant closing rendition of ‘We’ll Meet Again’, the event truly had something for everyone. The audience joined in with enthusiasm, and many commented on the impressive talent and confidence shown by the girls. The applause showed how much it was appreciated.

It was a memorable occasion, and the girls felt privileged to be part of it. Alzheimer Scotland is the leading national dementia charity in Scotland, caring for people living with all forms of dementia, their families and carers. The Aberdeen Brain Health & Dementia Resource Centre (King Street) is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The brain health service is also open to anyone regardless of age and can help people find out more about how to keep their brain healthy. The centre is also the base for a wide range of daily groups and activities such as singing, dancing, crafting, exercising or reminiscing.
