Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively for #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction.
International Women's Day (IWD) has been around for over a hundred years, as have many of the issues still impacting women's advancement. International Women's Day will be observed on Saturday March 8, under the theme 'Accelerate Action.' This annual event recognizes women's contributions across various fields, raises awareness about gender equality, and promotes empowerment.
From Nursery to VI Senior, gender equality and female empowerment are topics that are constantly valued. In a range of subjects across the school, girls outshine societal standards and pave the way for coming generations to do the same. The curriculum is supported with a vast variety of talks and seminars led by women who have seen, learnt and led. This year is not just about acknowledging these developments, but taking action against gender prejudice still frequently seen today globally. St Margaret’s is not just a school, but a community that aims to #AccelerateAction not just on International Women’s Day, but every day of the year.
